Mars to fund the sequencing of the Cacao Genome

This is where I see these type of projects at the moment. The Government agencies are not so keen to sequence "yet another plant/animal/fungal genome". Its the companies which have a vested interest in particular organisms that are going to fund these in the future, and it is enterprising scientists that are going to reap the benefits of being the first to approach them with a good plan to sequence "their" organism.
Hang on...... Oi! Fyffes! Wanna do the banana tree genome?
